TRUE, FALSE, NEARLY TRUE BUT NOT TOO TRUE

Truth is an elusive and unstable notion which coexists with an emotional and imperfect human being with limited ability to learn. The arrival of the Internet, and above all of the social networks has made it easier for large masses to access information without any mediation leading to the idea that this was a door to knowledge previously held by an elite. However, the Net is betraying many of the expectations, and is producing a dangerous and often manipulated disinformation accompanied by a marked radicalisation of public opinion. As a result, with all its paradoxes and short circuits, in 2013 the World Economic Forum listed disinformation as one of the global threats and today it all seems to have taken shape. In 2016 the influential Oxford Dictionary, listed «post-truth» as the word of the year.
